Episode 3 Recap

Previously on Survivor, Aparri returned from tribal council with Yuyan and Giselle at each others' throats. Their continuous lack of teamwork caused them to lose the reward challenge. Winning the reward challenge, Elaine found a clue to the hidden immunity idol in the chicken cage, but bumped into Siying when finding the idol. In the end, the idol surfaced in front of the two of them, sparking an unlikely alliance. At the immunity challenge, Solana's sole pillar of support, Antranig, couldn't fend off against Luzon and Aparri, sending them to their first tribal council. At tribal, Zac continued to receive fire from Marta and Shaniqua, while he tried to defend his actions. In the end, Zac pulled out his idol to negate all 5 votes targeted at him, and send Shaniqua packing with his only vote, making her the fourth person voted out of Survivor: Cagayan.

Night 11

Solana Camp

Zac (confessionals): It was a pity I had to pull my idol, but there was no other way.

Antranig (confessionals): I was a little offended that Zac lied to me that he doesn't have the idol. Looks like you can only trust yourself out here.

Marta (confessionals): I was so paranoid that I was the boot, but that bitch blindsided Queen Shaniqua. I am just thankful it's not me.


Day 12

Yixuan: Come on in guys!

*Aparri, Luzon and Solana walking in*

Yixuan: Aparri and Luzon taking your first look at the new Solana tribe, Shaniqua voted out.

*gasps*

Joshua (confessionals): I honestly thought that Zac was going home, but when I saw that Shaniqua was gone, I am pretty sure the idol was played.

Yixuan: Before we begin with the challenge, drop your buffs. We are swapping tribes.

Yixuan: Aparri tribe is no more. You will pick one of 2 tribes, purple for Solana or green for Luzon.

The new Luzon tribe consists of Antranig, Elaine, Erwitt, Giselle, Kandace, Siying and Steven.
The new Solana tribe consists of Jack, Joshua, Marta, Martin, Priscilla, Yuyan and Zac.

Yixuan: Now, let's get to the challenge proper.

REWARD CHALLENGE: KICKING & SCREAMING
For today's challenge, one member of each tribe will hold onto a pole. Two members of the other tribe will then attempt to remove the person from the pole and drag them to the finish line. The first tribe to get two members from the other tribe to the finish line wins reward.

Yixuan: The winning tribe will win a dessert set. Coffee, donuts, chocolate chip cookies, brownies and pastries. Let's get started.

Yixuan: First round, all girls. For Luzon, Elaine on the pole, Kandace and Siying pulling. For Solana, Priscilla on the pole, Marta and Yuyan pulling. Survivors ready, go!

Yixuan: Both tribe starting to pull their opponents off the pole. Solana with a slight lead, getting Elaine's legs off the pole. Luzon attacking Priscilla's arms. Both Priscilla and Elaine fighting for their lives to hold on. Elaine's legs are off the pole, but her arms are not budging.

Yixuan: Priscilla is off the pole! She is trying to hang on to the sand to prevent Luzon from pulling her further. Elaine is hanging on the pole by her fingers. No one is giving up yet. Priscilla is fighting to stay alive, but she is inches from the finish line. Kandace giving one last pull, Siying pushing with all her might. LUZON SCORES 1-0!

Yixuan: Next round, we have all guys. For Luzon, Erwitt on the pole. Antranig and Steven pulling. For Solana, Zac on the pole, Joshua and Martin pulling. Survivors ready, go!

Yixuan: The plus sized guys on Luzon immediately dismantling Zac from the pole. Joshua started tugging at Erwitt's legs, but it is firmly lodged to the pole. Zac getting flung off the pole. Solana is in trouble right from the start! Erwitt hasn't budged!

Yixuan: Zac is clawing desperately against Steven and Antranig, but the plus sized guys continued to drag him across the sand! Joshua and Martin barely got Erwitt off the pole yet. The future looks bleak for Solana. Steven and Antranig threw Zac across the finish line. LUZON WINS REWARD!

Yixuan: Congratulations Luzon, a well deserved win. Come along and collect your desserts and enjoy your afternoon! Unfortunately, I have nothing for you Solana, grab your stuff and head back to camp.

Solana Camp

Marta (confessionals): We have a tribe switch and I am stuck here with that ugly piece of crap. I want to be with my glam tribe mate in other tribe! I need to vote him out before he vote me out.

Yuyan (confessionals): I feel safe even with a minority because I have the idol. But I would love to keep it for future use.

Marta: Guys, welcome to Solana!
*pulls Priscilla aside*
Marta: You seem like a glam girl like me. I want to work with you.
Priscilla: That's fast.
Marta: You have 3 people, and if exSolana and exAparri join forces, you are out.
Priscilla: I know. That's why you are around!
Marta: I am willing to flip and vote out that useless Zac. Just stay clear of him, his nothing but trouble.
Priscilla: Sounds like a plan. He is weak and I don't know what he is doing.

Priscilla (confessionals): After the swap, Marta pulls me aside and started to talk strategy. I was like, someone is doing my job for me. Sweet!


Luzon Camp

Elaine (confessionals): I know that a clue will be in that dessert set, and I gave Siying a wink to try to get the clue before the others have a chance to get it.

Siying (confessionals): I noticed Elaine trying to make eye contact with me, but I am not sure what it meant. Maybe she wanted to talk to me privately?

Erwitt (confessionals): exSolana has a clear majority on our tribe, and I am going to try to work Elaine and Siying to our side so that we can whittle down their numbers.

*everyone enjoying desserts and walking around*

Kandace: Looks like we just need 1 person to flip to us and we have a majority.
Steven: Yeah, but they could band against us as well.
Kandace: Time to work my charm on Erwitt.
Antranig: We need to stay together no matter what.
Steven: I think we should campaign to boot the weaker players so that our tribe remain strong.
Kandace: This is such a tricky situation.

Siying: Were you trying to tell me something?
Elaine: The dessert set has an idol clue! We need to get it!
Siying: Ahhh! I didn't know. Is it too late?
Elaine: I don't want to look suspicious staying there too long.
Siying: Let's go together and try to find it.

*at the same time*

Erwitt: *picks up a donut* Hmmm, what's this? Better keep it first. *stuffs parchment into pocket*
Elaine: Did you find something?
Erwitt: It's just the icing. There's a lot in the basket.
Elaine: *peers into basket* You're right! Time to feast on it!

Elaine (confessionals): Erwitt seem to be looking for something when I approached the donut basket. I hope he did not find the idol clue.

Erwitt: *unrolls parchment* Oh my god, this looks like a clue to the hidden immunity idol! And I think it is pointing me to the waterfall. Should I tell Giselle about it?

Erwitt (confessionals): Thank goodness I found this before Elaine came. Now I just have to find the idol quickly.


Day 13

Solana Camp

Zac (confessionals): The swap is like giving me new life. Now I have to make my moves before Martabitch destroys it again.

Zac: Joshua, let's work together.
Joshua: Excite me.
Zac: You have 3 people from Luzon, and with me, we have 4. We can easily control the vote.
Joshua: Who are you planning to target?
Zac: Marta. She has been gunning for me since Day 1.
Joshua: That's nice. How do I know I can trust you?
Zac: Because I played my fucking idol to keep myself alive.
Joshua: I will try to talk to Martin and Priscilla.

Joshua (confessionals): I knew it! Zac played his idol. That means the exSolana doesn't have any idols left. Maybe we should try to clear them first.

Jack: Okay, we are not in a good spot right now.
Yuyan: Yeah, I saw Marta talking to Priscilla and Zac talking to Joshua. We need to scramble bad.
Jack: I will try to get Martin and Joshua on our side.

Jack (confessionals): I think that our current position in Solana is really bad. We definitely need to work to improve it.

Yuyan: I'm going to the well to get water!
Priscilla: I will go with you.

Priscilla (confessionals): I wanted to get some alone time with the exAparri members to get a read on their tribe dynamics.

Priscilla: I don't really want the guys to run our tribe.
Yuyan: Me too. Are you close with Martin and Joshua?
Priscilla: Not really.
Yuyan: I think I can get Jack to vote with us if we try to pull in Marta.
Priscilla: Marta wants Zac out though!
Yuyan: Wow intertribal politics!
Priscilla: Let's see how we can play that into our hands.

Priscilla (confessionals): Right now, I think I am in control of everyone's vote. I just need to ensure not to make it too obvious.

Yuyan (confessionals): If Priscilla is telling the truth, we could get a majority of 4, and it would be awesome if I can somehow take over that alliance.


Luzon Camp

Steven (confessionals): So I woke up this morning and Giselle was by the sea. I thought that it was the perfect chance to talk to her.

Giselle (confessionals): This morning, I was feeling a little down. So I went to the sea to relax. There is just too much for me to handle the past few days. Especially after the meltdown with Isabel, and quarreling with Yuyan, this is taking a huge toll on me.

Steven: Hey Giselle, how are you doing?
Giselle: I'm fine.
Steven: Have you been crying?
Giselle: I am just a little emotional and I need some time to myself.
Steven: Don't worry, I will be here with you.

Steven (confessionals): So I tried to be nice to Giselle so that she will be comfortable around me. Every vote counts, and I sure hope this helps.

Erwitt (confessionals): I woke up early today and went to the waterfall to search for the idol. On the way there, I noticed Steven sitting beside Giselle by the beach. I wanted to listen to their conversation but finding the idol takes precedence.

Elaine (confessionals): When I couldn't find anything in the dessert basket, I thought Erwitt might have found the clue. So when I noticed Erwitt missing from the shelter, I snuck out to the waterfall.

*at the waterfall*

Erwitt: Where is that idol? Am I supposed to overturn rocks to find it thoroughly?

Elaine: *peeping from the trees* He did find the clue! What should I do now?

*back in shelter*

Elaine: Erwitt has the clue! He's at the waterfall now.
Siying: Are you serious? If he doesn't find it, he will assume one of us has it.
Elaine: We need to clean our tracks.
Siying: But it would be suspicious if he campaign for his boot now!
Elaine: You're right, let's see how it goes after the immunity challenge.

Giselle: Sorry for the emotional outburst.
Steven: It's alright. People break down at times.
Giselle: Thanks for everything.
Steven: No worries.

Giselle (confessionals): Steven was a darling today. And he looks cute too.

Steven (confessionals): I hope that I gained a little of Giselle's trust today.


Day 14

Yixuan: Come on in guys!

*Luzon and Solana walking in*

Yixuan: First things first, I will take back the idol.

Yixuan: Only 1 idol will be in play. Ready to get to today's immunity challenge?
Castaways: Yes!

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: GATE CRASHING

For today's challenge, each tribe will take one large log and smash it through two walls. Then, maneuver the log through a table maze. 

Yixuan: The first tribe to work through the maze and bang the gong wins immunity. Losers have a date with me at Tribal Council tonight, where one of you will become the fifth person voted out.

Yixuan: You will need to sit one person out each.

Giselle: I will sit out.

Marta: I will sit out.

Yixuan: Giselle and Marta, take a spot on the sit-out bench. The rest of you, one minute to strategize.

Yixuan: For immunity, survivors ready? GO!

Yixuan: Both tribes off to a quick start, trying to break down the first wall. Solana taking hits at the wall systematically. Luzon having difficulty holding the log up, and striking it without sufficient strength. Solana coming up with a rhythm, led by Zac. 

Marta: Pfft, that's the only thing he is good at.

Yixuan: Solana is almost done with the first wall. Antranig and Steven stabilizing the log for Luzon, and the rest are trying to swing it at the wall. Solana is through the first wall, Luzon almost there! Solana starting on their second wall! Luzon getting the hang of it, they are through the first wall!

Yixuan: Solana making quick work of the walls! You still have a puzzle after the breaking the walls! Luzon catching up! They are learning how to control the log! Solana is almost done with the second wall. Luzon, you need to dig deep!

Yixuan: Solana is done with the walls! They can start on the puzzle! Zac taking lead on the puzzle, the others are pushing it through. Luzon is done with the walls! They made up a lot of time on the second wall! Kandace leading the tribe on the puzzle. Both tribes are at the initial stages of the puzzle. It might be a close challenge!

Yixuan: The puzzle requires your to move forward and backwards to solve. If you are rushing forward, you are most likely wrong. Luzon making a mistake and retracting their moves. Solana making a mistake too. Both tribes are neck-in-neck. Luzon trying to take the lead by hastening their actions. Kandace guiding the log, while Antranig and Steven is using brute force to push the log. Zac is getting frustrated and causing Solana to slow down. Priscilla trying to take over but Zac is confident he can do it. Luzon having a slight lead over Solana.

Yixuan: Solana is starting to break down. Luzon pulling ahead. If Kandace doesn't make any mistakes, it will be over for Solana. Solana trying to catch up. Kandace frees Luzon's log. Everyone picking the log up and running to the gong! LUZON WINS IMMUNITY!

Yixuan: Congratulations Luzon, immunity is yours and safe from tonight's vote. Grab your stuff and head back to camp.

*Luzon walking out*

Yixuan: Solana, you just swapped and tonight, you will be testing where each others' loyalties lie. Grab your stuff and head back to camp.

*Solana walking out*

Marta (confessionals): It was obvious Zac's complete lack of teamwork cost us the win. I'm sorry but goodbye gay boy.

Solana Camp

Jack (confessionals): Everyone's mood was down back in camp. We had more guys than Luzon, which means more strength, but our puzzle solving just sucked.

Marta: Look who screwed up the challenge

Zac: Look who did nothing on the bench.

Marta: I can't be bothered with you. I am going to the beach to suntan because I am glam.

Marta (confessionals): I've been wanting Zac to be out since Day 1. If he doesn't go tonight, I will strangle him with my bare hands.

Priscilla: Okay, the thing is Zac and Marta are at each other's throats.

Joshua: Zac told me he wants Marta out.

Priscilla: And vice versa.

Martin: So let's just grant their wish.

Priscilla: I think we should vote Zac out though.

Joshua: Why? Marta has friends, Zac doesn't.

Priscilla: But Marta is stronger in challenges!
Joshua: Either way, we should just put our votes on them.

Priscilla: Fine.

Priscilla (confessionals): It's so frustrating that Joshua isn't listening to me. And I know Martin is definitely going to be on his side. I need Yuyan and Jack to vote my way so that the girls don't lose majority!

Zac: Who are you guys voting?

Martin: We are thinking Marta.

Joshua: She has friends on the other side and you don't.

Zac: Sounds great! I assume is us 4?

Joshua: Yes, but Priscilla wanted to vote you though.

Zac: Urgh, can she be trusted?

Martin: I guess. I doubt she wants her game to blow up in her face anyway.

Zac: Great!

Priscilla: Okay, we need Jack on board definitely. The guys seem to be more keen getting rid of Marta!
Yuyan: Are you serious?

Priscilla: Yes, if they get to Jack first, we might be in trouble.

Yuyan: There he is! Jack, come here!

Jack: What's up girls?
Priscilla: Okay, I think we should get rid of Zac tonight because he simply sucks at challenges!
Yuyan: Yeah, and we need to preserve our strength.

Jack: Definitely. I will consider that vote. Right now, I need to go take a break. I am really exhausted.

Marta: Am I safe tonight?
Priscilla: I think so. Yuyan, Jack and myself are voting for Zac.

Marta: So glam.

Priscilla: Hopefully, tonight will be Zac's last night here.

Marta: OMG PLEASE!

Joshua: Jack, what is your vote going to be tonight?
Jack: I don't know yet. This is really confusing.

Martin: I think everyone is doing Marta tonight.

Jack: Is that so?
Joshua: Yes, keep to the plan and exSolana is history.

Jack (confessionals): On one hand, Joshua and Martin wants me to vote Marta, and the other, Prisiclla and Yuyan wants me to vote Zac. It seems to me like the battle of the gender.

Tribal Council

*Solana tribe walking in*

Yixuan: Alright, tell me about the swap. Where does it leave past allegiances?

Zac: Well, with the swap, everything changes. You have new people, you have new plans. And everyone is going to find ways to make it into the merge.

Priscilla: I would believe that people are looking for new opportunities to advance further.

Yixuan: Jack, the previous Luzon has 3 members there. Does it make sense to work with them to form a majority? Or work with the minority to knock them out?

Jack: Well, at first, the latter does sound like a plan. However, the other minority imploded on themselves and caused us to have not much options.

Yixuan: You mean Zac and Marta.

Yuyan: Yes, since the swap, they have been very hostile towards each other and making all our lives difficult.

Marta: Well, you cant blame me because it is beneath me to talk to that loser.

Martin: Marta insists that Zac is the fault of all our problems.

Zac: And nothing I do seems to change that.

Joshua: I think that this feud can only be solved if one of them is dead.

Marta: Well, he is dead to me.

Yixuan: Yuyan, looking at this, it must really be good for you.

Yuyan: Of course. It naturally takes the target off your back because they have bigger targets to worry about.

Yixuan: Martin, how do you think tonight's vote will be?

Martin: After tonight, we are going to have a peaceful life.

Joshua: No more fighting I must add.

Yixuan: With that, it's time to vote. Marta, you are up.

*Marta voted - Zac*
Marta: Just go home.

*Zac voted - Marta*
Zac: Now to weed off the other evil.

*Priscilla voted*
Priscilla: This is going to propel me further in the game.

*Joshua voted*
Joshua: Bullying gets you nowhere,

Martin: As long as it's not me, I will gladly vote.

*Yuyan voted*
Yuyan: I can't believe you are so useless. Goodbye.

*Jack voted*
Jack: This vote is crucial to me because it is going to determine which group I am going to go with.

Yixuan: Alright, I will tally the votes.

*collects votes*

Yixuan: If anyone has the Hidden Immunity Idol and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so.

Yixuan: I will read the votes.

Yixuan: That's 4 votes, that's enough. Bring me your torch.

Zac: Damn! You guys are screwed.

*Zac brings torch over*

Yixuan: Zac, the tribe has spoken. *extinguishes torch* Time for you to go.

*Zac walks off*

Yixuan: Even when trying to accomplish a common goal, you guys are divided. Let's see how you are going to settle that problem. Grab your stuff, head back to camp.

Zac (confessionals): My gameplay was flawless, other than that bitch who keeps ruining my day. I hope that the exSolana dies.
